Stress has been classified as the number one health issue in the U.S. in recent years. We all experience different levels of “stress” and “stressors” daily, everything from being stuck in traffic or an unexpected loud noise on the small side of the scale to emotional upset or job loss on the larger side. Sometimes these stressful situations come all at once making them seem even more difficult to endure. Stress creates tension in the body. The body’s sensory network perceives itself to be under attack and goes into protection mode. Prolonged stress can be very debilitating both mentally and physically and actually lead to stress related illness and/or depression. A hypnotherapist can help to identify and clarify the stressors in your life and work with you to lesson them and begin to incorporate new, healthier responses to these stimuli. You will become more aware of the stress and tension in your body, when it starts and where exactly it resides. Conversely, you will become reacquainted with what your body feels like when it is in a completely relaxed state, which is very helpful. Diet, exercise, dream therapy and sleep improvement programs can also be incorporated to provide a healthier and less stressed base for you to operate from daily.
